Portfolio

An essential part of making your YouTube channel profitable is having a large library of content for viewers to go through after they find your channel. Even videos that don’t perform well immediately can contribute to this and suddenly see major performance boosts months or even years after release. To give your videos the best chance of seeing that success, they need to not only be worth watching in the first place, but enjoyable enough that they keep the viewer on your channel, which is where I come in.

I’ve written over a thousand video scripts, most of the products of which have tens of thousands of views each. Twenty of them have over a million views. But the views on individual videos aren’t the only thing that matter – every one of those videos was also written to keep the viewer invested and entertained, which is necessary to keep a consistent audience.

Here are a few examples of my work, videos that have not only performed well but that are also engaging and high-quality.

Over a million views and counting. This is a character analysis video, and it keeps the audience engaged by presenting unfamiliar aspects of familiar characters that the viewer likely hasn’t thought about before. This particular video keeps the viewer watching until the end by presenting the analysis as a story, and it keeps the viewer on the channel by demonstrating expertise on a topic they’re interested in.

On top of being my best writing to date, in my opinion, this video has racked up a quarter of a million views in six months. It’s an analysis of the antagonists of a 2004 Star Wars video game and the perspective they provide on the philosophy of the franchise, and it’s a good demonstration of my ability to analyze and present complex philosophical concepts in a way that engages the audience.

This is another character analysis video; it demonstrates many of the same strengths as the one about Anakin Skywalker, but it also shows off how I can challenge the common understanding of a topic and back it up in an effective and convincing manner.

This is an overview of some obscure Star Wars Expanded Universe lore, which is the most common sort of video I do for Geetsly’s. It’s an excellent example of my approach to presenting information in an easy-to-digest and entertaining manner, which gets viewers invested in a topic they might not have even been interested in otherwise. This grows your audience, but it also makes your viewers more apt to try out other videos in your library that they might not have otherwise been interested in.

Here we have a moderately long media analysis video, in this case covering four episodes of a television series. It works in much the same way as the character analysis video above did, driving engagement with the channel by presenting the viewer with new perspectives on a familiar topic.
